Farm Pride Foods Supporting the EJ Whitten Foundation

The team at Farm Pride Foods would like to thank all footy fans and egg lovers who helped us support those whose lives have been affected by prostate cancer.

Buy buying Farm Pride - EJ Whitten Pack Eggs you helped us raise $2000 for EJ Whitten Foundation so that they can continue to raise funds for research into all aspects of prostate cancer.

From June 1st, 2008, the team at Farm Pride Foods donated 10c to the EJ Whitten Foundation from every specially marked Farm Pride Cage 700g 12pk Eggs sold through Coles supermarkets in Victoria and South Australia.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer found in Australian men after skin cancer and is only second to lung cancer as the most common cause of cancer related deaths in men.  Approximately 12,000 new cases are diagnosed each year.

There is no known cause of this cancer but treatment in early stages of development can cure the disease.

Since its inception the EJ Whitten Foundation has raised over 1.8 million dollars with the funds going to the E.J. Whitten Fellowship at the Cancer Council of Victoria. Donations are also made to the Alfred Foundation (William Buckland Prostate Centre), Garvan Institute of Medical Research, E.J. Whitten Prostatic Assessment Centre, E.J. Whitten Cancer Treatment Centre – Western Private Hospital.

Initiatives such as this make a vital contribution towards allowing the EJ Whitten Foundation to continue its valuable work and makes a real difference to many people’s lives.
